Le 2 Juillet 1900, en Allemagne sur les bords du lac de Constance, une foule est là pour assister au décollage d'un dirigeable rigide, long de 128 m la carcasse de l'aérostat renferme 17 ballonnets remplis d'hydrogène, à son bord son inventeur le conte Ferdinand Zeppelin, l'énorme dirigeable parcourt 6 kilomètres en 17 minutes.

L'épopée des célèbres dirigeables Zeppelin commence, 130 dirigeables seront construits.

A la fin 2000 l'appareil n° 1 termine sa certification.

Le dirigeable NT-07 est du type semi-rigide, une armature de forme triangulaire partant du nez jusqu'à la queue, cette quille rigide est fabriquée en fibres de carbones et aluminium.

Sur cette armature sont fixés la nacelle, les gouvernails en "Y" inversé et les 3 moteurs.

La motorisation : 2 moteurs placés sur les flans l'armature permettant cette configuration, le troisième moteur moteur est situé sur la proue du dirigeable pour le contrôle latéral, toutes les hélices sont orientables.

25 mai 2001, 1er vol du Zeppelin NT n° 2 D-LZZR.

9 Février 2003, le 3ème Zeppelin NT-07 D-LZZF a effectué son 1er vol ( 90 minutes ) au dessus du lac de Constance, Allemagne.
